Our Great adventure to Alaska will begin April 1, 2009 No, this is not an April Fool's joke...we are actually happening! Everything will be sold, given away or donated to the Salvation Army! We are packing up only the things that are necessary into our camper and taking off on the first of many adventures.

It's 3 weeks and counting......

All the furniture is gone and we are left with some mattresses on the floor and a TV.....everything we are taking is packed in the camper and the remaining "stuff" will be sold at our tag sale this weekend or given to Goodwill. Oh, by the way, there will be a large dumpster in the yard to take the "stuff" we can't give away! Dick is finding it very, very painful to get rid of his things...he gets so attached to his junk....really very funny to watch!

On February 14th, Carrie and Laura gave us a Going Away Party...it was great to see everyone...some friends we haven't seen is quite some time! We lured Dick there by telling him it was Krysta's 17th birthday party. He had a hard time understanding way all his friends were coming to her party....sometimes it just takes awhile for some people to catch on! Anyway, here is a link to a great video that Carrie and Al put together.

Well you guys did leave as planned although I heard you left 15 minutes ahead of schedule....did you hit any traffic? Not that it matters.

There was a sense of sadness when I drove in. Your camper and truck were no longer parked in your driveway. Dennis came into the office a little while ago and Laura, Dennis and I were all discussing Xmas eve....who is going to cook the hunk of meat. But you know I was more a fan of your stuffed potatoes....

You've only been gone a few hours and the reality hasn't hit yet. Please continue to update on your progress and where you are and take and post plenty of photos.
